The War of the Worlds

I just ran across the original movie 'The War of the Worlds' (1953) in the Wal-Mart $5.00 bin tonight. Pretty cool find.

Those Martian Tripods creep-ed me out as much as the creatures in original ' The Day The Earth Stood Still' and 'Forbidden Planet'.

I thought the original movie did a pretty good job giving imagery to H.G. Well's story. Does anyone out there remember what local radio station used to play Orson Welles' old 1938 radio broadcast on Halloween nights?
