warning-warning

Bob May, the guy inside 60's sci-fi television show LOST IN SPACE died on January 18th. Bob said that the reason he got the job was because he could fit into the robot.

I don't know what's going on in the photo above - but Mr. Smith looks like he's trying to get it on with Model B-9, Class M-3 General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot. The robot was never given an official name - just robot. The guy that created this rolling prop, Robert Kinoshita, whose other claim to fame was creating Robbie the Robot first featured in Forbidden Planet. Though Bob May was in the metal suit, the distinct voice of the robot was Dick Tufeld.

Thanks for the "warning" Will Robinson.
I never got to seee LOST IN SPACE when it was on. We didn't get a CBS station that well where I lived.
I did see some of it when it ran on SCI-FI.
The remake movie was a stinker. Once again proving Hollywood has no vision for new things.

The space family Robinsons were just too nice. If I were the head of that family - I would have hit Mr. Smith over the head with a blunt instrument in his sleep. I wouldn't even want to have to hear him snivel and beg for his miserable life. Mr. Robinson should have watched out for the well-being of his family and ejected that idiot within the first season. Then again- a guy that wanted to protect his family shouldn't have volunteered to take them into deep space in the first place.

Just picture this in your head - Mr. Smith's carcass floating outside the bay-view window with a big "Z" cut into his chest.

There needs to be justice in space I tell you.

Kirk sure wouldn't have put up with Smith's shenanigans . . .

I enjoyed watching the re-runs in the seventies. As campy as it was, LiS was always a fun hour.
